LeNepotism?

LeNepotism?

The Lakers have officially entered circus territory. I like Bronny. He seems like a cool kid to play videogames with. He definitely has inherited that Lebron James athleticism to a point, at 6’2 I have seen him get several chase down blocks like his father.

With that said, Bronny James does not look NBA ready at all. This is a bad look. The Lakers have Lebron’s podcast buddy as the coach, and drafted his son, who probably should not have been drafted, it makes me wonder, are the Lakers about basketball or a look? Bronny James would obviously torch me in a game of basketball, sure.

But this is not an NBA level player at this point in time. This is legitimately the opposite of “earned not given” and it sets a dangerous precedent. Will people come to see him? Sure. Will he sell jerseys? He for sure already is. But with this precedent, how soon until we have streamers in the NBA if it is not basketball and talent that gets you to the NBA?

Maybe we see Kai Cenat in a Lakers uniform at some point; I say that in jest, but seriously, if it is not about hoop skills and just selling tickets, we could be headed down that path.

I actually feel bad for how much criticism is being thrown his way, impossible shoes to fill, and so much critique. I hope Bronny can prove us wrong, but I find this situation nothing if not a bit embarrassing for the NBA.
